November 1, 2008: Reflections: The Life Works of Lynn Thomsen, 1957-2008
Opening Night & Reception
"Mobile studio Lynn Thomsen never painted from photographs. A plein air painter, she wanted to breathe in the beauty as she painted. She traveled the Carroll County countryside, stopping when she saw a spectacular view with perfect lighting and composition. Painting from the bed of her pickup, she first created a one-color underpainting. She then added layers of color, producing the vibrance she saw in the moment." - Jennifer Archibald, Carroll County Comet

Reflections: The Life Works of Lynn Thomsen, 1957-2008
Exhibition Schedule: November 2nd - 16th, 2008
Lynn Thomsen LYNN THOMSEN
PAINTER
1957-2008

"Lynn Thomsen found lyricism in every Indiana landscape, like no other artist, and she depicted it on her canvases with force, passion and a unique luminosity. When you see a Thomsen painting you know it is a Thomsen painting.

Lynn Thomsen did for Indiana's cornfields what Vincent Van Gogh did for Europe's wheatfields - turned them to unforgettable visions of nature's beauty."

Vicky Keramida, Ph.D.
Chairman
